Association of Engineers Indonesia (PII) Gorontalo area to socialize the use of lightweight steel frame for the roof construction of housing in the area. Socialization done because people are entitled to disclosure of information on materials, production processes, strengths, fabrication, construction methods, as well as a decent price.

“The use of lightweight steel frame is more efficient than a conventional steel frame and wood,” said Bonni MM Ointu, Chairman of Gorontalo Regional PII.

He said the infrastructure is one prerequisite of development because it is part of the built environment (man-made environment) that is needed for continuity and sustainability of human life. Roads, ports, sanitation facilities, communications, transportation, or settlements have an important role for people to develop themselves.

Infrastructure development, can move so as to encourage economic investment community, has also become an instrument to create jobs.

“However, because the current high cost of infrastructure development, all parties must find a way to efficiently and effectively. Thus, mild steel to be one solution,” he said.

In addition, if the use of lightweight steel frame has been popular in the community, it can reduce the expansion of logging of trees so as not to disrupt the forest ecosystem.
